The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) is an international radio telescope project under construction since 2021, aiming for the phase 1 operation around 2029. Antennas will be deployed in Australia and South Africa, and by achieving high sensitivity, high resolution, and ultimate survey performance in the meter-wave to centimeter-wave radio bands, the SKA will tackle various mysteries in astronomy and astrophysics. Mizusawa VLBI Observatory plans to contribute by leveraging the technological heritage of Japan and its VLBI group, including Assembly, Integration, and Verification (AIV), receivers, helium compressors, digitizers, and VLBI recorders. Moreover, the observatory will engage in global collaboration to challenge the largely unexplored low-frequency VLBI, with participation extending from East Asia to Southeast Asia, and including India and Australia.
