Introduction

About VERA

VERA is a project to create a three-dimensional map of the Galaxy. The construction of the observation network was completed in 2002, and observations as a project were carried out until 2022. Since then, VERA's radio telescopes are still active in international observations of the East Asia VLBI Network (EAVN) and other projects.

Sub Project SKA1

In July 2018, Japan's VLBI Exploration of Radio Astrometry (VERA) telescope has been officially designated as an SKA pathfinder, joining more than a dozen facilities around the globe contributing to SKA-related technology and science.

Collaboration

In addition to the Milky Way Galaxy, VERA will also explore following scientific fields in collaboration with other VLBI projects
